Commercial aviation is
widely regarded as one of the safest modes of transportation available. Because
of strict regulations and rigorous standards in the aviation industry, airline
accidents have been on a consistent global decline for more than 30 years.
However, some airlines continue to outperform others in terms of safety
requirements, which is why the Australia-based aviation research website
AirlineRatings.com exists each year, after tracking more than 400 airlines, it
compiles a list of the world's most safest airlines. AirlineRatings.com
considers a wide variety of criteria when determining the world's safest
airlines, including audits by aviation's regulatory and business bodies,
government audits, the airline's accident, and serious incident record,
profitability, industry-leading safety measures, and fleet age. The ten
airlines that the website assumes will be the safest in 2021 are listed below.
