In terms of phones, 2021 is off to a strong start, with the Samsung Galaxy S21, Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra already on the market - Three phones that are sure to be among the year's best and most famous.
They were followed by the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, as well as the impressive Xiaomi Mi 11 series and the Oppo Find X3 Pro, but if the leaks and rumours are to be believed, there's plenty more on the way.
There will be something for all, from high-profile handsets like the iPhone 13 to oddities like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. It could be a strange year for new devices, with MWC 2021 being postponed until June and the Covid-19 pandemic affecting smartphone demand, but there will undoubtedly be exciting new phones.
We've outlined the most intriguing choices that we plan to see before the end of the year in the table below. These are phones that, in the vast majority of cases, will be fantastic, and should at the very least be interesting, unique, or creative.

The iPhone 13 series is definitely the most eagerly awaited of the upcoming phones, but you'll have to wait a while for them, as they're unlikely to arrive until September.
High refresh rate displays, 1TB of storage, in-screen fingerprint scanners, and a smaller notch are all rumoured to be included in these new versions. There's also talk of adding a periscope camera, which would expand the optical zoom ability.
However, since the phones are still a long way off at the time of writing, we aren't entirely sure in these claims. What you can count on is that they'll be solid, and Apple will most likely offer the same lineup of handsets as the iPhone 12 – There are four iPhone 13 models: an iPhone 13, an iPhone 13 mini, an iPhone 13 Pro, and an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is unlikely to be as popular as the majority of the phones here on list, but it could be more exciting, as foldable phones are the way of the future, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is likely to be the best yet.
Apart from having a large, foldable screen, the main Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 rumours so far indicate that it will support Samsung's S Pen stylus, have an in-It will almost certainly have an RGB light strip on its hinge.
We haven't heard anything else as of this writing, but expect more news to surface as we get closer to the release date, which may be as early as June if leaks are to be believed - though some reports say it won't arrive until the second half of the year.
Nokia 10

Other reports say that a phone named the Nokia G10 (which may be the same device) will be released on April 8 with a Snapdragon 775 chipset and five rear cameras, the most powerful of which is a 108MP sensor.
iPhone SE 3

Although the iPhone 13 series is undoubtedly the most awaited of Apple's upcoming phones, a sequel to the iPhone SE (2020) may be released in 2021.
We've learned very little about the iPhone SE 3 so far, and it's possible we won't see it until next year, but if it does come out this year, it'll almost certainly have an A14 Bionic chipset (the same as the iPhone 12 range).
There's also talk of an iPhone SE Plus, which may be nothing more than an iPhone SE 3 in disguise. This is expected to have a larger 5.5 or 6.1-inch screen while maintaining the iPhone SE's general affordability. It's unclear if the iPhone SE 3 will hold the physical home button and large bezels, which are quickly becoming outdated.
In the past, we'd been much more excited about new Huawei P series phones, which usually have some of the best cameras on the market, as well as generally impressive hardware and competitive strength.
Huawei P50

The Huawei P50 is likely to be no exception, but the company has been unable to sell Google's apps or access to the Google Play Store on its phones since the ban, severely limiting the software side of things.
Even, if you can live with that, the Huawei P50 could be worth your time. We don't know anything about it yet, but it'll almost certainly use the high-end Kirin 9000 chipset used in Huawei's Mate 40 smartphones, and reports say the Huawei P50 Pro will have a 6.6-inch curved screen. The camera, on the other hand, is likely to be the show-stopper, with leaks indicating some very large lenses.
We can find out more soon, as the Huawei P50 series is expected to launch in May or June.
Samsung Galaxy Note 21 range

The biggest mystery surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 range is whether it will even launch, with reports circulating that Samsung is preparing to discontinue the Note series - something that now seems more likely now that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with S Pen support has launched.
Not only that, but due to chipset shortages, a Samsung executive has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 21 might not be released this year.
That doesn't necessarily mean it'll be cancelled, but there's a good chance it'll be postponed until next year at the very least, and the Note series' days seem to be numbered in general, while a Samsung Galaxy Note 21 may still be released at some stage.
There isn't much information on what it will include just yet, but you can expect a S Pen stylus, a large screen to make the most of it, and plenty of strength. If the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 does come out in 2021, it will most likely be in August.
